Michael Cleary has been appointed director of sales in New York by Edgewater Markets. In the newly-created role, the firm says he will focus on Latam and work closely with managing director Robert Sanchez and Edgewater’s head of South America Jose-Antonio Buenaño.
Cleary joins from a short spell at Tullett Prebon in New York, where he was a senior sales broker, prior to which he spent over six years at Tradition Securities and Futures in New York. He started his broking career at Icap, where he focused on Mexican markets for almost seven years.
“With his extensive experience building relationships with clients from global banks in Mexico and New York, and depth of knowledge, both in the swap and derivative sides of electronic FX trading, Mike will generate new opportunities to Edgewater’s current business lines and partnerships,” says Skovran Schreder, CEO and co-founder of Edgewater.
“[Mike] will be instrumental in helping us to industrialise our offering and reach more financial institutions with our EdgeFX Latam platform,” adds Buenaño.
