Simon Gallagher has been named as the new CEO of Euronext FX, with immediate effect – he will also retain his role as CEO of Euronext London and head of global sales at the exchange group.
Gallagher succeeds Nicolas Jégou, who has run the business from New York for the past three years and nine months and is moving to a new role with the Euronext group, the firm says. Under Jegou, Euronext FX has seen good FX volume growth in what has been a generally positive environment for platforms. With the platform running at just over $31 billion average daily volume in 2026, ADV is up 40% from 2023.
Gallagher has been with Euronext for 24 years, for the last three years he has been chair of the Irish Stock Exchange in addition to his role as CEO of the London business. Prior to that he spent nine years as head of equities, as well as head of cash equities and derivatives trading, having previously served as head of business planning and chief of staff.
“As the business continues to grow and evolve, I look forward to working with our clients and colleagues to further strengthen our offering and capture new opportunities in the global FX market,” says Gallagher.
