BitGo Launches Global Markets Business

BitGo Holdings has announced the launch of BitGo Global Markets, which is expected to broaden the company’s offering beyond infrastructure by bringing together its institutional offerings.
The new business combines the firm’s institutional trading business and prime services offering with expanded derivatives, collateral management, and structured finance solutions. Supported by the firm’s digital asset infrastructure, the business serves institutions seeking to trade at scale, BitGo says, as well as access capital and take a more deliberate approach to managing their digital asset exposure.
The launch follows BitGo’s acquisition of NYDIG’s business, which added a team of capital markets professionals across derivatives, financing, collateral servicing, and structured products. Pete Janney, who joined from NYDIG, has been appointed head of the new business.
“BitGo has built a strong foundation across custody, liquidity, trading, financing, and settlement,” says Mike Belshe, CEO and co-founder of BitGo. “Global Markets brings these capabilities together with deeper capital markets expertise, allowing us to support more complex institutional strategies and serve a broader range of our clients’ financial needs.”
Janney adds, “Clients who own digital assets need sophisticated solutions that go beyond buy and hold. We work with clients to understand their goals, whether that is putting idle assets to work, hedging exposure, or accessing liquidity without selling, and execute solutions designed to help them manage risk and pursue those objectives.”
