Inter-dealer brokerage and market data firm Tradition has named industry veteran Michel Everaert as its global head of e-commerce and digitalisation.
Everaert has spent the last 13 years at CME Group, where, since mid-2022 he has been managing director EMEA, having moved up from sales and client development roles. Prior to that he worked at Qatar-backed investment vehicle IMEX Group, where he was CIO for almost three years. Everaert has experience in the inter-dealer broking world, having worked for GFI Group for seven years, as CIO, e-commerce. He has also worked in product and sales roles at Logica, Reuters and Dow Jones Telerate.
At Tradition, Everaert will join the group’s senior management team, reporting to its global executive, and is tasked with leading its electronic initiatives and accelerate the transformation in its high-touch with high-tech customer driven strategy. The firm says it has already transitioned much of its transactional flow to automated and hybrid execution, with platforms and processes integral to its large global client base. It adds Everaert’s experience will be “invaluable” in implementing increasing integration of multiple technology advances, data science and artificial intelligence into a global platform for its customers. “We will be drawing on his considerable experience, as well as the wealth of knowledge he has accumulated throughout his 30-year career,” says Patrick Combes, chairman of the Tradition Group.
“Tradition is a leading global transactional platform with an ambition for expansion and innovation,” says Everaert. “I am excited about the potential this offers, and look forward to building relationships and working with teams across the global business.”
