The Full FX Unfiltered – with SGX FX

Alan Dweck, COO, buy-side at SGX FX, say down with Colin Lambert for a very entertaining and broad conversation in the latest edition of The Full FX Unfiltered. After kicking off with a conversation about the risks associated with automation – and how defining the rules around this are more complex than many think – the two move on via AI and The Wright Brothers, to FX volumes and product innovation.
They also chat about the road to an MTF licence – with ESMA’s potential enforcement of the Trading Perimeter a key factor – before turning to potential areas of growth and the problem with bundling. While provoking Lambert with one of the latter’s least-favourite phrases, Dweck argues that the future is very much unbundling, and that this is a challenge for technology providers and platforms alike.
A fun conversation, with plenty of to-and-fro, concludes with a look at the electronification of FX options and what it takes to succeed in what could become a very competitive space.
