Alternative investment manager Apollo Global Management has named Christine Moy as head of a new digital assets unit. New York-based, Moy has been named partner and head of digital assets strategy by the firm, which has more than $480 billion in assets under management according to its website.
In a newly created position, the firm says Moy will lead digital asset strategy across the firm, exploring more ways to apply blockchain technologies to its business. “She’ll also play a key role in our strategy to invest in some of the most innovative digital asset companies and founders, with a specific focus on those transforming the financial services sector where Apollo can serve as a validator and enabler of new technologies,” it adds.
Earlier this year Moy left JP Morgan where she worked for over 18 years. In 2016 she was appointed head of blockchain and crypto at the bank, having previously worked in the banks FIC business. As head of JPM’s crypto push Moy oversaw the bank’s Onyx platform, which provides blockchain solutions – in October 2021 she was named as global head of metaverse at the bank, a role she only held for five months before stepping down to join Apollo.
