G.H. Financials Deploys Baton Systems

Futures clearer G.H. Financials has gone live with Baton Systems’ intraday liquidity management platform, including its Balance Manager and Exposure Manager modules.
The firms say the deployment provides a single, near-real-time view of cash balances, initial and variation margin requirements, collateral on deposit, and excess/deficit positions at CCPs and carry brokers, across more than 100 nostro, CCP and carry broker accounts, across 17 currencies. This means funding decisions across multiple currencies, legal entities and time zones can be made with greater speed and confidence, they add.
Previously, reconciling cash positions against margin obligations across CCPs and carry brokers has required aggregation across multiple systems and reporting cycles, the firms explain. Baton’s platform replaces that process with a single continuous view, with every data point time-stamped and updated as each venue makes new information available, regardless of reporting cycle or cut-off window, with historical intraday and end-of-day data available on demand to support liquidity forecasting and stress testing.
The platform also extracts and exposes balance and transaction information directly from Swift messages. This advanced visibility allows G.H. Financials to monitor and trace individual payments and receipts with total precision, enriched by real-time status alerts, Baton says.
Baton further observes that as institutional workflows evolve to incorporate tokenised assets alongside traditional instruments, the demands on liquidity and settlement infrastructure will only intensify. Funds will need to move across additional venues, in more currencies and on tighter timescales 24/7, it states.
“We made a deliberate decision to invest in infrastructure that would give us a genuine competitive advantage as we scale,” says Kieran O’Regan, CFO of G.H. Financials. “Having a consolidated, near real-time view of our cash positions and margin requirements across every account, currency and legal entity has significantly improved our liquidity management. We can now make confident funding decisions faster and more accurately anticipate and proactively address upcoming liquidity needs.”
Arjun Jayaram, founder and CEO of Baton Systems, adds, “The data fragmentation problem does not get easier as you scale, it gets harder. The solution we delivered to G.H. Financials uses the same core institutional-grade infrastructure we deploy at G-SIBs, extended to meet the needs of a non-bank FCM operating at serious scale. It’s not just a solution built to address a current operational challenge, but a critical capability that clearers of all sizes will need to take advantage of the opportunities presented by institutional adoption of tokenised collateral, the use of agentic AI in treasury management and always-on markets.”
