Jeff Ward has been named as the new CEO of FXSpotStream, ending an extensive search for a replacement for Alan Schwarz, who stepped down at the start of this year.
Ward stepped down from his role as global head of EBS at CME Group, prompting a change in structure at that business, and will take up his new role on 1 January, 2024. Ward spent 18 years at EBS following a 13-year banking career at ABN Amro and Citi, prior to taking over the global EBS business he was head of NDFs, forwards and Asia for the platform.
Tom San Pietro has been serving as interim CEO and will revert to his prior role of chief technology officer on Ward’s arrival.
“Following an extensive and rigorous search, the Board is highly confident that Jeff’s exceptional leadership skills, strategic insights and deep industry knowledge make him the ideal choice to drive the company’s continued growth, as well as strengthen its partnerships and build key new relationships,” says Mark Meredith, chair of LiquidityMatch, the owners of FXSPotStream.
The firm also stressed its thanks to San Pietro for his “strong, highly capable leadership as interim CEO over the past eight months”.
