USS Investment Management Limited (USSIM) has joined the Financial Markets Standards Board (FMSB) as a full member.
Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) was established in 1974 as the principal pension scheme for universities and higher education institutions in the UK. It is one of the largest pension schemes in the UK, with total assets of around GBP75.5bn (at 31 March 2023). It is also the principal investment manager and adviser to the scheme, looking after the investment and management of the scheme’s assets.
Myles McGuinness, FMSB CEO says, “We are delighted to welcome USSIM as FMSB’s first pension fund member and we look forward to their contributions and insights to our various workstreams.”
Simon Pilcher, USSIM CEO, adds, “I have followed the work of FMSB since its inception and am pleased that USSIM can sit together with asset managers, corporates, banks and infrastructure providers in the pursuit of fairer and more effective financial markets.”
