The Full FX Unfiltered

With FX options market structure changes continuing, Colin Lambert sits down with Mark Suter, executive chair of Digital Vega, which recently received investment from Citi, to discuss what was happening in the space.
Suter observes that there is a “definite acceleration” in interest in automating FX options from a broader range of participants, including asset managers, and that the firm’s Hydra platform – initially aimed at private banks – is getting a new lease of life from a direction that perhaps hasn’t been a factor in the FX industry for some years.
There is time for a chat on what is happening with the joint project with CME to provide access to block trading, as well as how the new generation of traders is helping to sustain interest in greater automation. The two also discuss the potential of data in the FX options space and close out with one of Lambert’s hobby horses, an FX options CLOB.
