The Full FX Unfiltered

In the latest video from the Unfiltered series, Colin Lambert catches up with Tim Cartledge, chief data officer at Tradefeedr to discuss all things data, algos, and RFQs in FX.
Cartledge updates Lambert on the progress of Tradefeedr’s first foray into the pre-trade space, its algo forecasting project, which has developed sufficient critical mass for it to be used as an algo wheel. He also talks about the work of Tradefeedr’s buy-side advisory group and the “clear message” coming from that forum over the most important choice to be made when planning a trade.
The importance of having sufficient breadth and depth of data is also discussed, as is Tradefeedr’s analysis of ideal LP pool size – a number that surprises Lambert a little – as are the benefits to be gleaned from the inexorable growth of (quality) data when participants are building and maintaining their execution processes.
A hugely entertaining and insightful conversation concludes by getting out the crystal ball and looking at the next frontier in market data and industry structure, specifically the challenges the FX world faces with the proliferation of data.
