The seventh annual City against MND Network cricket tournament took place at Blackheath Cricket Club, Kent on 14 June, with perennial participants StoneX carrying off the David Setters Trophy at an event that raised more than £30,000.
Participants in the six-a-side competition included teams from KRM 22, Trading Technologies, ABN Amro, StoneX, Intercontinental Exchange and London Metal Exchange. Broadbridge sponsored the brightly coloured shirts and Ethypharm generously funded the refreshments.
Having been participants every year since the launch of the event in 2017, StoneX ran out worthy winners for the first time in a closely fought final against ICE. Final numbers are still awaited, but the event will have raised another total in excess of £30,000 for the UK MND Research Institute via the MND Association. The mission of the Institute is to accelerate progress towards meaningful treatments and, ultimately, a cure for MND through targeted translational research. It is a collaboration of the leading UK neuroscientists at research centres across the UK.
