Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking has unveiled three appointments to its New York-based Latin American sales teams across FX and fixed income.
Gerardo Gomez, Andres Bachor, and Guillermo Diez have joined the bank, more than doubling the team, and will report to Gregory Fage, head of macro sales Americas. The bank says the appointments are part of its global investments in expanding its emerging markets and Latin America platforms to diversify offerings for clients worldwide.
Gomex joins from BBVA in New York, where he worked for 15 months as a director in the corporate and project finance derivatives team. Prior to that he spent over 14 years at BNP Paribas, including a spell as acting head of global markets for Mexico.
Bachor also joins from BBVA, where he worked for over two years as part of the Latin American sales team responsible for the development and distribution of credit, FX and rate products in the region. Prior to that he spent 21 months at Deutsche Bank in emerging market sales, having moved there from Nomura in New York, where he worked in sales for three years.
Diez is an internal move, he joined Natixis in Madrid in May 2021, where he worked in the institutional and corporate FX and cross assets derivatives sales team. Prior to that, he was briefly part of global corporate coverage and Latin American FX, rates and credit sales for Deutsche Bank, having moved from a junior FX trading role at Santander US.
“These key appointments signal Natixis’ long-term commitment to emerging markets as the firm continues the expansion of its Latin American operations,” says Emmanuel Issanchou, head of global markets Americas, Natixis CIB. “Natixis CIB’s hire of Gerardo, Andres and Guillermo to its fast-growing Ggobal markets team marks a decisive step forward in its strategy to serve local and global customers in the region.”
Helena Radzyminski, head of Latin America, Natixis CIB, adds, “The appointments of these seasoned professionals mark an important step in taking our Latin American business to the next level. They strengthen our capability to deliver financing and market solutions to our clients.”
