Join “March of the Day #2” for MND

UK readers! Fancy a nice stroll around between football grounds while raising money for charity? Good friend to The Full FX, Dave Setters, who many of you know, is backing the fundraising effort for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, March of the Day #2.
Following a great effort last year that raised over GBP 200,000, the walk – for that is what it is – starts at Wembley Stadium, circles the football grounds of London (including, I hope, the home of football in Stratford), before heading out to East Anglia to end at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road.
Teams of walkers are invited to join the event, they can do as little, or as much as they like, probably starting in the four/five-mile range, on any one, a combination of, or all of March 21-23. It’s an international weekend, so sadly walkers will not be able to take in the flowing football at the London Stadium (yes, I know…)
Apparently other football stadiums are available to take in, but why would you want to? Mr Setters informs me that some of the clubs, “mainly the big ones” may be opening their doors for a photo opportunity or the chance to meet ex-players, but then he names Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs, so clearly he is either doing half a job or trying to wind me up (probably both!)
Either way, it is a great cause and the weather should be good (caveat: it is the UK) so sign up and join in the fun and raise money for important research.
You can contact Dave through the usual channels, or get more information on how to register here. If I happen to be there, even though it’s my birthday weekend, I’ll join at least part, and if it’s not around West Ham’s ground I’ll say now that the graffiti that will appear is not down to me…
And yes, I’ve always wanted to post a story with that graphic!
