ForexClear Hits FX Options Record

LCH ForexClear, part of LSEG, says it hit a new peak for FX options average daily volume cleared in February, although overall activity drifted from January’s record numbers.
Overall service volume was $238 billion per day in February, up 34% year-on-year, but down from the approximately $258 billion seen to start 2026.
That said, FX options clearing hit a new peak at $44 billion, up 4.8% of January – which was the previous peak – and up a massive 63% year-on-year. If the service maintains this pace of options clearing, it is likely to be seeing In excess of 10% of global turnover in the product, based upon the latest FX committee surveys.
The drop in activity from January was in NDFs, and may in part be explained by the extended Asian holidays during the month for Lunar New Year celebrations. Average dail=y volume cleared by LCH ForexClear was $189 billion, which is up 28% year-on-year, but down just over 10% month-on-month.
