Jonathan Tinker, co-head of FX at Deutsche Bank has stepped down from the role and is leaving the bank.
Tinker was appointed co-head of the FX business with Russell Lascala, who is assuming sole control of the FX business following the departure. The two were appointed in May 2017 following a reshuffle at Deutsche Bank, previously Tinker was head of FX derivatives at Deutsche.
The Financial Times has reported sources saying that Tinker’s departure is linked to the court cases the bank is facing over alleged mis-selling of derivatives to Spanish clients (Full FX newsletter 2 March 2021), however this is not confirmed. In an email excerpt seen by The Full FX Ram Nayak, Deutsche’s global head of fixed income, thanks Tinker for his contribution to the franchise and notes his “important role” in developing Deutsche’s FX business.
