CLS has closed out the latest monthly reporting cycle with activity broadly reflecting that seen by the platforms who released earlier this month.
Overall, CLS handled average daily volume (ADV) of $2.123 trillion in March, up 6.5% from February and only fractionally down on March 2023’s $2.128 trillion. Spot volumes were the second highest since March 2022 at $516 billion per day, this is up 6.6% from February and down 6.2% year-on-year, while forwards ADV was $156 billion, up 13% month-on-month and up 23.8% year-on-year.
FX swaps ADV, meanwhile, matched the previous high-water mark reported by CLS at $1.451 trillion. That previous peak was actually March 2022, meaning no change year-on-year, however it is up 5.9% month-on-month.
