C8 FX Hedge AI Agent Live on Microsoft

C8 Technologies says that its C8 FX Hedge is now available in the Microsoft Marketplace, meaning the firm’s customers can now discover and deploy solutions through the venue with integration and streamlined management across Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft products., including Copilot.
C8 FX Hedge is an AI-powered foreign-exchange hedging agent that gives treasury teams, asset managers and family offices FX hedge-ratio recommendations directly within Microsoft 365 Copilot, including Copilot in Excel, where ratios can be written straight into a treasury FX exposure tracker. Rather than applying a static hedge regardless of market conditions, C8’s models adjust FX hedge ratios dynamically using macroeconomic, intrinsic currency value, carry and momentum signals. These are generated by quantitative models that have run with real money since 2018 and were developed by the team that helped build BlueTrend into a $15 billion systematic fund.
Measured against a 50% static hedge benchmark, C8 says the approach improved outcomes by approximately €1.8 million per annum per €100 million of EUR/USD exposure (back-tested 2007–2018; live since 2018), and covers all G10 major currencies plus a growing set of emerging-market pairs.
A key part of the deployment is how it broadens the potential client base of C8, which previously played more of a consultant role, and strengthens the compliance regimes for clients. Now, firms can access the hedging agent whilst maintaining control of their proprietary information. This also means that C8 does not need to charge as a consultancy, the service is now available with a monthly fee, meaning, Jonathan Webb, product manager of C8 Hedge points out, “it is both affordable and hugely scalable.”
Webb also points out that the deployment of AI has made the process more intuitive and streamlined, “Clients can feed the active hedge ratios directly into their execution management systems, which is a major efficiency gain,” he says. “This means that those clients who just want access to a streamlined and automated smart hedging solution can get it.
“FX hedging is often an administrative process so with a solution that handles it as simply and quickly as possible, while fully optimising the hedge process, can be invaluable for these clients,” he adds.
C8 stresses that it never sees a client’s exposure data, portfolio positions or client names – the AI assistant processes data within the client’s own environment and calls the C8 agent solely to receive hedge ratios and supporting analysis, with all calculations and trade-file generation occurring locally. It also, Webb observes, does not disrupt the bank/broker-client relationship. “We don’t want to interfere with the important relationships these firms have,” he says. “More importantly, perhaps, we believe we can enhance those relationships – especially between banks that may not offer an automated hedging solutions on their platform, and their clients.”
C8 Hedge has been accredited on Copilot, clients can also deploy it in other AI environments such as Claude. This means they are able to pull the information into a spreadsheet and share it via Teams, as well as conduct their own work on the data should they wish.
“Managing FX exposure is complex and easy to get wrong. Making our models available on Microsoft Marketplace puts institutional-grade hedging intelligence where treasury teams already work, inside the tools they use every day, with no integration project and no change to trade execution,” says Mattias Eriksson, founder and CEO of C8 Technologies. “It puts decades of research directly into the hands of the people who need it.”
Webb concludes, “FX Hedge simplifies and strengthens the FX hedging process by automating active FX risk management, offering users proactive strategies to optimise outcomes whilst freeing them to concentrate on their core business.”
“We’re pleased to welcome C8 FX Hedge to Microsoft Marketplace,” says Cyril Belikoff, vice president, Microsoft Azure product marketing. “Marketplace connects trusted solutions from global partners with customers worldwide, making it easy to find and deploy apps that work seamlessly with Microsoft products.”
