The Full FX understands that James Taylor, global head of e-FX sales at Bank of New York Mellon, is leaving the bank.
He is believed to be taking up a role in the crypto industry, according to sources, but further details are unavailable at press time. If correct, this marks the latest in a long line of senior FX market figures to shift to the burgeoning cryptocurrency world.
Taylor has been at BNY Mellon for four years, having joined the bank from an almost eight-year spell at JP Morgan, most latterly as head of Rates execution services for EMEA and Asia, having joined in e-FX sales.
Prior to JPM, Taylor held senior e-FX sales roles at both Deutsche Bank and Barclays in London and New York.
