Bloomberg Launches GenAI New Summaries

Bloomberg has introduced AI-powered news summaries on the Terminal using generative AI technology to create them.
The firm says the new service provides users with three bullet points at the top of Bloomberg News content on the Terminal, and follows the release of AI-powered earnings call summaries last year. The summaries are evaluated by the company’s subject matter experts to refine the large language model’s performance. For long-form analysis or feature stories, the tool provides a bird’s eye view of the content and enables readers to explore salient information located below the first few paragraphs, condensing information and surfacing important details so they can quickly decide whether to dive deeper, the firm adds.
“The new AI-Powered News Summaries for Bloomberg News articles has been a game-changer for me,” says George Karas, senior executive trader at Trillium Trading. “They provide clear, concise insights that allow me to quickly grasp the essence of complex stories. As an event-driven proprietary trader, I find this to be an incredibly valuable tool for staying informed in a constantly evolving market.”
Chris Collins, chief product officer of news at Bloomberg, adds, “The fast-paced information landscape is increasingly challenging for financial professionals and news audiences to navigate. AI-powered news summaries helps users stay on top of the news they need to make informed business decisions.”
