Barclays Names APAC Markets Head

Hossein Zaimi has been named head of Markets for Asia Pacific at Barclays, based in Hong Kong, he will be responsible for driving the firm’s APAC Markets business and lead the teams in the region.
He will report functionally to Adeel Khan and Stephen Dainton, co-heads of Global Markets at Barlays, and regionally to Jaideep Khanna, head of Barclays, Asia Pacific.
Zaimi joins from HSBC, where he worked for over 18 years, most latterly in equities roles, however until 2014 he worked in the bank’s FX division, most latterly as head of FX and commodities for Asia-Pacific. He joined HSBC in 2004 from Credit Lyonnais, where he was head of FX derivatives for Asia-Pacific in a six year c areer, having joined from a fve year stint in a similar role at Salomon Smith Barney.
