ACI – The Financial Markets Association has named a new chair, vice chair, and co-head of Europe – the appointments were ratified at a Council meeting this week.
Stephane Malrait, currently managing director and global head of market structure and innovation for financial markets at ING Bank, has been elected chairman of ACI FMA, following the expiry of previous incumbent Bruno Langfritz’ six-year term. Malrait has held a variety of executive positions within ACI FMA for over 15 years, and is currently head of the association’s FX committee. He is also a member of ACI’s crypto working group and of the ECB’s FX Contact Group working on the FX Global Code.
Joining Malrait is Perry Savundranayagam, who has been named to the newly-created position of vice-chair. Savundranayagam is currently president of ACI Asia and has previously served on ACI’s Board of Education.
Both men will work closely with Kim Winding Larsen, ACI FMA president.
ACI FMA has also named a new co-president of ACI Europe, with Jorn “Luffe” Sodborg, appointed to the role to work alongside Branko Petrovic. Sodborg, who is currently head of e-business & distribution, FX & liquidity at Jyske Bank, has a 33-year career in FX markets and will replace Marc De Bosscher, who is stepping down from the role following the conclusion of his term in office.
In a statement, ACI FMA says, “ACI FMA would like to express its sincere recognition for the excellent work and achievements Bruno has made throughout the years, with his outstanding efforts and extreme dedication to the Association and its members.”
